Derwent Reservoir East, Derbyshire - ref. VFB_0039
A sturdy wooden bench near the east shore of Derwent Reservoir, providing views along the reservoir to Derwent Dam.
How to get there:
The bench is located just off the access track that runs up the east side of Derwent Reservoir. Park at the Derwent Valley visitor centre below Derwent Dam. Access to the Derwent Valley is from the bottom of the Snake Pass road (A57 Sheffield-Manchester).

Amenities:
There are toilets and refreshments available at the Derwent Valley visitor centre nearby (1 mile).
Access: The bench is easy to access for the disabled, or for young children as it is situated right next to a vehicle track, and is about 1 mile to the car park/visitor centre.
Unusual features or other information: Derwent Dam was made famous by the 'Dambusters', who used this area to test their Bouncing Bomb. In the summer, the shores of the reservoir are full of rhodedendrons.
