Benches around Derwent Water, Keswick, Cumbria - ref. VFB_0041
How to get there:
Keswick is a lovely lakeside town in the northern section of the Lake District about 12 miles west of Penrith. Take the A66 from junction 40 of the M6 and this takes you directly to Keswick. There are a number of public car parks in Keswick and it isn't a big place. Head towards the lake (Derwent Water) and the footpath towards Friars Crag is well marked. To walk right around Derwent Water takes 4 or 5 hours and is a great walk. Locate Friar's Crag bench on a detailed map
here
Amenities: Great tea shops and restaurants in Keswick. Not much around the lake but a nice tea shop (with toilets) at the sailing club on the other side of the lake from Keswick.
Access: The walk around the lake is not suitable for disabled visitors but OK for the reasonably active. The walk to Friar's Crag from Keswick is much easier and has good access.
Unusual features or other information: Fabulous views of the lake. For more views click here.
