Benches near Branscombe, Devon - ref. VFB_0057
Benches on South West coastal path between Beer and Branscombe.
How to get there:
Branscombe is one of the prettiest villages in East Devon. It is just south of the A3052 about 5 miles east of Sidmouth. Picturesque thatched cottages are spread down the combe almost to the beach. There is an old forge and bakery which are both interesting to visit. Car parking is easiest at the village hall with about a half mile lovely walk down the combe to the beach. From the beach, take the coastal path eastwards which leads towards the seaside village of Beer, about one mile east. Locate bench on detailed map

Amenities: Restaurant with toilets at Branscombe Mouth.
Access: Quite a steep climb in parts, not suitable for disabled but OK for reasonably active.
Unusual features or other information: In January 2007, the MSC Napoli got into difficulties off the south coast and was eventually beached just off Branscombe. When containers started to be washed ashore, many people arrived and began to scavenge items from the beach, causing quite a stir.
