Carved hands bench at Derwent Water, Keswick, Cumbria - ref. VFB_0074
This 'bench' is actually a large kind of seat which is carved wood in the shape of a pair of hands cupped together.
How to get there: There are a number of public car parks in Keswick and it isn't a big place. Head towards the lake (Derwent Water), around the northern edge and on to the sailing club on the far side of the lake. The carved hands 'bench' is located on the edge of the lake in a wooded area. Locate the carved hands on a detailed map here
Amenities: Great tea shops and restaurants in Keswick and a nice tea shop (with toilets) at the sailing club on the other side of the lake from Keswick.
Access: The walk around the lake is not suitable for disabled visitors but OK for the reasonably active. It is possible to walk all the way around the lake, and is a great walk but about 10 miles long.
Unusual features or other information: None.
